I might have missed a/the news story, but have the new owners said anything about their immediate/longer term plans for the women’s team? With the current promotion/relegation structure getting back into the BWC will be a difficult challenge. It’d be useful if media organisations close to the club could push for a response to the situation.
Hi Iain, no, nothing from the new owners although they haven't said anything about the men's team either in fairness. I was mildly encouraged that Chris Wilder at least namechecked the women's side when talking about the takeover, in terms of new owners having responsibility for every aspect of the club. It was a small thing but it was something.
My guess is that we are attempting to ride out this season and then reconfigure in the summer with a bit of money to play with (the Isobel Goodwin fee) and the ability to actually make moves in advance of the season rather than scrabbling around trying to patch together a team. However this only works if we finish above 11th.
